Preah Vihear Administration Officers All Clear in Drug Testing Initiative

Phnom Penh, March 19, 2024 – In a move to reinforce the national anti-drug campaign, Preah Vihear Provincial Administration recently conducted drug tests across its workforce, aligning with Prime Minister Hun Manet's directive to combat drug use within government institutions and local administrations. Collaborating closely with the Preah Vihear Provincial Police, the administration undertook the testing process for 125 of its officials, including civil servants and contract officers.

The comprehensive screening yielded a 100% negative result for illicit substance use, setting a commendable standard for integrity and discipline within the civil service. This outcome not only reflects the commitment of the Preah Vihear Provincial Administration to uphold the highest professional standards but also contributes significantly to the broader societal battle against drug abuse.

The initiative has been met with widespread acclaim, highlighting the importance of maintaining a drug-free workplace to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of public service delivery. It serves as a potent reminder of the critical role that public officials play in exemplifying lawful and responsible behavior, further reinforcing the collective effort required to eradicate drug-related issues from Cambodian society.
